So everyone wants to know how our trip went. It went. It was good. It was short. It was limited a bit by our lack of money. And it was limited by our lack of time. And it was limited by our hotel room. Looong story. This top picture was taken while we were trespassing at my friends hotel. Our feet are soaking in a hot tub, on the rooftop. That was just before we had wine & cheese with the uppercrust. Well, I had wine. Rob had water. Man, we suffered.

We had no a/c. It was 85... at night! We did have a huge room, with a balcony. The best part about it was the really old ceramic tile on the floor. The balcony opened up to the street and a bar that was open all night long. Those Puerto Ricans sure can party. And this was not a tourist kinda dance club that plays something recognizable. Oh no. The beat is still ringy in my ears. Our roommate was fabulous. We were a bit worried because, well, she is almost everything we're not. Liberal and Jewish mostly. But she's someone I hope I can call a friend for a long time. We went to Mass together, at the 2nd oldest church in the western hemisphere. Cool huh? We went with a really cool Catholic girl we met that was also a guest of the wedding we attended. Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke right? Two Christians, a Catholic and a Jew walk into an old church...
We did get to see an awesome fort that was built somewhere in the 1500's to protect PR, until the Americans beat their tails in 1898. I got a picture of Rob in front of some shrapnel that remains from that whoopin.
We forced ourselves to frolic on a secluded beach... it was rough. Really. I have the wounds to prove it. But it was beautiful, nonetheless. And the wedding was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. My friend Sarah was the picture of grace. Oh my goodness. Wow. She was the most beautiful classic bride I have ever seen. Her grandchildren will see her wedding photos and gasp, "Wasn't my Grandma gorgeous?"! The ceremony had a few glitches, but what wedding doesn't? And the reception was fabulous. The decor was tasteful, simple, elegant. The music was romantic. The food was to die for. I enjoyed it all emmensely.
I'm throwing in a few pics. As you can imagine, between Rob and myself, there are quite a few to see. Guess you'll just have to come visit us to see the rest!
