Updates and Such

I love fall. I mean, I really love it. Really. I wish I could live somewhere where it was always like this.
I went for my 30 minute walk, alone this morning and it seemed like God had put on a show, just for me. It was simply gorgeous! The lake was so calm and still, I don't remember it ever being so calm. Because of the lack of waves, there was lot's of beach to walk on. There was a soft, cool breeze and leaves danced sweetly around me. I had to stop, sit, and enjoy the moment. I wish I could freezeframe it in my mind for my mental happy place while I'm in labor in a few months. I tried as best as I could to take it in with as many senses as possible.
For Amy, if you're reading this, I've wanted to comment on your blog, but you've either disabled the comments section, or I'm just too special to figure it out. Could be both. Humph. Anyway, congrats on going to DC recently. Isn't it awesome? We'll be going to Baltimore next weekend to visit some friends... we would be hitting DC, too, but our DC friends think they need to go on vacation to celebrate the anniversary of their marriage vows... boooh. I still love them anyway.
For my few readers that don't already know, we're getting ready to move... again. Yup. That's right. And it's not over after that. Hopefully, this is a very temporary move. Six to twelve months, max. We're moving back to South Carolina, to my dismay, sort of. I'm really excited about being back in an area with civilization, our old church, and awesome stores like Whole Foods! Yippee. I am however, not so psyched about leaving my family, again. It's heart wrenching. Still haven't told my folks. I plan to when we get together to celebrate my birthday this weekend. "Yaaaay, thanks for the presents. By the way, we're moving back down south November 1st. Love you, mean it." Ugh. Not looking forward to that, at all. I've been holding it in for almost a month now. For some reason I still have a really hard time giving my father particularly, bad news. It wouldn't take long for a shrink to figure that one out. Anywhooo, I digress, again. In order to save up a down payment for our own home, and to pay off some ugly debts we've acquired over the years, we're going to move in with my in-laws. It'll be okay, I think. Like I said, six to twelve months, max.
Oh, we had Sierra put to sleep about 3 weeks ago. It was a very hard decision to make, but I have peace about it. She's no longer in pain, shedding all over the place, and grumpy. Fiji, on the otherhand, is missing her, BIG time. Now she clings to me, literally. I've been careful to take her for walks and give her TLC everyday since Sierra passed away. But some days she's still just plain obnoxious.
Josie is doing so great these days. She blows my mind and makes my heart happy, everyday. She seems to pretty solidly know all her colors, and even counts objects up to 9. It's sooo cute. "Ooone, doo, free..." Ugh, I could eat her up! I took her to the beach this afternoon, since it may be the last warm day we get for awhile. I leave you with a parting shot from our afternoon.

Oh, I am so sorry about Sierra. That is so sad. I am glad that you are coming back to SC, it will be tough with the in-laws but worth it, I'm sure. You will have to stop by the office and maybe we can get together one Sat for lunch, I bet Jennifer and Nora will come. She has turned into quite the social butterfly. She is even volunteering to teach people to read and english as a second language. I am so proud of her! Wendy started singing downtown as a street performer. I will post a pic soon. It's awesome! I fixed the comments, I turned them off somehow. I haven't been to DC lately, I went to Dragon*Con but now that I am a cool con-goer (i.e. nerd) I refer to it as DC :-)
We will be heading up to the District of Columbia soon because Alex's brother is in a demo derby and we want to check it out.

Enjoy the weather, it's beautiful here but it makes me want to bake. That's not good!
