The Toddler and The Dog

I spent several hours today trying to hone my photography skills and get the perfect Christmas portrait of Josie. It didn't work out so good. I had several issues with lighting and my backdrop, then Josie seemed to be feeling not so good. As you can see here.

Turns out, when I finally gave up on her and let her be, she threw up and felt pretty hot. I got her out of her Christmas dress, gave her some Tylenol, and sat down to watch her current fav movie, A Night at the Museum, and she was much better. She's napping now, thank goodness.

I turned to my faithful dog, Sierra, to be my muse next. She was a champ. She sat for awhile and then she laid down for awhile, but never left the scene until I told her to, unlike the toddler. Here's the best shot that I got of Sierra.

In the end, I ended up with one good shot of Josie, out of 150. I'm still aspiring to be a children's photographer, it's just going to be a loooong time and a lot of practice before I'm famous, I think. I leave you with this little gem.
